The Youth Political Rights Advocacy Group (YPRAG) held a meeting in April, 21, 2016 at FEFA HQ. The objective of this meeting was listening to working activities of members, exchanging views on group’s quarterly and finalizing focus group’s questions.
At the beginning of the meeting, the facilitator of group presented brief information about group to new members and said, “We reviewed the 2014 electoral challenges and found out that the level of youth participation was low in 2014 elections. Therefore, we decided to hold awareness programs on election to youth in schools. We held the awareness program in 2 schools (one male and one female) in 8 zones of Afghanistan and 22 districts of Kabul city.” She added that totally 1000 youth participated and benefited from these programs.
Then, she added that after holding of the awareness programs the group decided to identify, appreciate and write the biography of active youth to share the secret of their success with other youth. Therefore, the group identified 20 active youth, appreciated them and published their biography in a book.
The facilitator of group said, “We will work on two proposals, printing of group’s quarterly, holding of advocacy meetings for report of Youth and Political Participation which was already published and work on election policy this year.”
Subsequently, based on the agenda the members of group exchanged views on group’s quarterly and promised to send their biographies along with their photos and research articles to facilitator of the group to include them in group’s quarterly.
At the end of the meeting, the participants finalized the questions of focus groups.
